Cupcake Bachelorette Party Packages

We all have our favorite flavored cupcake – FireFly is partial to a good cupcake, we love to scout out new joints – mine is carrot cake, but I love putting them in the fridge so they harden up!! and James’ favorite is Mint chocolate (from Frosted in Long Beach).

Since we’re sitting here dreaming of tiny frosted delights, we thought we would share the fabulous Cupcake baking/decorating Bachelorette Party Events that we offer.

Cupcakes take center stage at your unique bachelorette cupcake event.  Your personal pastry chef will bring the cupcakes, frostings and toppings to your house where you’ll create a deliciously fabulous cupcake masterpiece.

Here’s a taste(i could’t resist) of our cupcake events:

Vendor Love – The Man Registry

This week for our Vendor Love segment,  we chatted with Chris from The Man Registry .  For all those grooms or best men out there if you haven’t heard of The Man Registry, you’ve missed the boat.   Their website features a fantastic wedding gift registry tailored toward MEN ranging from electronics, barbecue grills, outdoor gear and items from favorite sports teams – why should it all be about the kitchen.  In addition to the wedding registry, the website offers a wealth of information, how-to articles and resources designed to help guide the groom through every step of the engagement, wedding and honeymoon planning process.  Don’t feel left out grooms, The Man Registry is here to help you.

Our interview with Chris at The Man Registry went a little something like this:

What’s your favorite product on your site?

It has to be the RC Cooler. We’ve carried this for a few months and I just recently broke down and bought one for myself.  It comes in very handy for football season. If there’s a good game on, I don’t have time to be getting up off the couch and walking to the kitchen to get a beer. I’d rather let the cooler do the work!

What FireFly package would you pick for your bachelor party?

I’m going to go with a bachelor party double header. First up is beer tasting. I’m a sucker for micro breweries and trying new beer. After that, we’re heading to the ice rink for bumper cars on ice. I had no idea something this awesome existed.

Name 3 famous people you’d invite on your bachelor party?

  1. Hugh Hefner – I don’t think I need to provide a reason why.
  2. Kiefer Sutherland – To keep the party safe from terrorists.
  3. The actor that plays the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” – Of course, he has to be in character for the entire party.

What’s your most outrageous wedding memory?

A few years back, I was a groomsman in the wedding of a good friend. After the ceremony, the wedding party and their dates took a trolley from the church to the reception. This was a 45 minute drive giving us ample time to start the party onboard. And what a party we had. In fact, we had so much fun that three members of the wedding party (including the best man) didn’t even make it to the reception. The groom had to ask a cousin to step in a give a speech!

Finish this sentence: If I could give one piece of wedding advice it would be…

Get involved in the wedding planning process, guys. Statistically speaking, it’s the only wedding that 50% of you will ever have.

For tips and info on how the groom can get more involved in wedding planning, visit The Man Registry’s Groom 101 section.

It’s the morning after the bachelor party, there is a tiger in your room, you can’t find the groom, what do you do?!!

Nice try, but I’m not falling for this trick question.  On the morning after the bachelor party, the groom and I are still down in the casino playing blackjack. We haven’t made it back to the room yet.

Here are a few other items you can find on The Man Registry:

For the artistic-minded – 25oz. Chalkboard Beer Mug http://www.themanregistry.com/ProductDetails.aspx?PID=2267

I saw this great gift for your bridal shower, out of town guests, or favors for the wedding on one of the fantastic blogs we follow – Intimate Weddings.

Christina made this fabulous homemade raspberry jam and did an amazing job with the packaging, so we wanted to share.  Christina has posted great photos and descriptions on how to make these gems. The cute tag was from Fog and Thistle

Here is another way to dress up those Jam jars.   Domestifluff have put together a ‘How To’ including fabulous tags that are free to download.

Blogs that love…Us

Since we’ve gone live we’ve gotten some love from lots of folks on the internets. It’s only fitting that we return some love now that we have a blog of our very own. I’m gonna mention a few of the blogs that have extended a digital high-five our way:

The Man Registry – These guys have given men a place where every gift isn’t a nose hair trimmer or blender. Now friends and family can buy them gifts a man would actually want. These guys are a great fit for the bachelor side of FireFly. They were also kind enough to say nice things about us.

Their blog: http://groomsadvice.com/tag/firefly-group-events/

Nicole Koester - Nicole was brought to our attention through the Rock N Roll bride. She did an amazing trash the dress session that we just couldn’t resist. As a result, we emailed Nicole and got permission to use one of her images. In turn, she gave us a shout out.

Her blog: http://blog.nkoesterphotography.com/2009/06/firefly-group-events.html

Weddingish.com – Reya the owner/designer of Weddingish has been a great supporter. We love her shop and are thrilled to show her some reciprocal support.

Her Blog:  http://weddingish.blogspot.com/2009/06/firefly-group-events-not-your-mothers.html

Alison Ulshoffer Events & Design – Alison is a girl with style and taste(she likes us after all). Her blog shares her unique finds and her work as an event coordinator and designer. The next time you get married, make sure you give Alison a call.

Here Comes the Guide - Denise from HCTG gave us a mention in her post about Bachelorette Party Planners.  Thanks Denise!

There are plenty of other people that we could thank, hug, kiss, and bake cookies for in a post like this. We don’t want to stuff everyone into a single post though.

Bridal Shows

San Diego – The Convention Center

Aaaahhhh….lovely San Diego, what a great place to have a booth at a bridal show.  We were welcomed by a number of fabulous brides-to-be and Maid of Honors, even a few grooms who were being dragged round the event. Luckily for the grooms this show had some free samples of champagne to dull the pain. =)

Here’s Nadine with our new booth concept:

Our new bridal "shower" booth for bridal shows(say that 3 times fast).

Our new bridal "shower" booth for bridal shows(say that 3 times fast).

We came up with the idea of creating a shower (for bridal showers)!!!  James did a fab job of creating the masterpiece (not without help).

As always, we had wonderful neighbors, some of whom we will feature in our future  blog posts.

Orange County – Queen Mary

Ahoy Mateys…. It be time for an accounting of our recent show…. Ahem… We had a great time at the Queen Mary Bridal show. Amidst the art deco décor, the ocean, and sailors we managed to meet lots of wonderful brides and avoided having the theme from The Love Boat stuck in our heads. It was a tighter fit at this show, but we didn’t mind because once again our neighbors were fabulous. The crew from Silver Line Productions kept trying to steal our bachelorette sash and we tried to steal their candy. By the end of the show we were sugared up and Victor from SilverLine had the sash.

We’re looking forward to our next show when our booth will include a blow up doll(stay tuned for details)!!

Married ON MySpace

Since we’re new to blogging, you’ll have to excuse us while we play catch-up.

Exciting news for FireFly (of course we had to go out and celebrate) – We were contacted by The Knot the number one, one-stop wedding planning guide for all your wedding needs.  They collaborated with MySpace to produce the interactive reality series – ‘Married on MySpace’.

The concept: Each week America voted on two key wedding elements (dress, location etc) for Elle and Tito’s big day.  The series ended with a live broadcast of the wedding.

FireFly’s part in the action:  We were asked to put together 3 bachelor party and 3 bachlorette party packages. We contacted a number of our fabulous vendors and with them put together 6 unique experiences for Elle and Tito’s bachelor and bachelorette parties.  It was then up to America to vote on what Tito and Elle would get to do. For Elle it was chocolate making, boudoir photos, or spa treaments and for Tito there was a choice of gentlemen’s club, paintball, or a high ropes adventure.

We had a lot of fun with our vendors and the film crew. We KNOW Elle and Tito had a blast. You’ll have to watch the videos to see what America chose.
