The Sticky Pig – Unique treats for your bachelorette party or bridal shower!

Tara Simon, is a graphic designer, turned Pilates instructor, turned candied bacon confectionery artist.  She is the brainchild behind The Sticky Pig Candied Bacon Confections.  She metamorphed her love of food into a successful candied bacon enterprise complete with her own original, one-of-a-kind candied bacon creations.   She uses only the finest and freshest ingredients to create this ultimate guilty pleasure.  We were introduced to her alternative sweet & savory treats at Utterly Engaged’s new years party. My personal favorite sticky treat is the s’mores. I am still drooling! Tara’s treats make excellent bachelorette party favors or gifts to your bridal party – everyone loves food.  Thanks Tara for sharing!

What is your favorite candied bacon flavor and the most popular flavor?

My personal favorite is the Apple Pecan Dulce de Leche because it tastes like a cross between an apple pie and a churro. Yum! It’s hard to say which is the most popular because they all so good, but the top three are S’mores, Apple Pecan and The Elvis.

What gave you the idea to create The Sticky Pig?

I’ve been making candied bacon for years, but it wasn’t until I met an amazing group of foodie friends that inspired me to create new flavors and sell to the masses.

That’s a hard one, because they all look fun, but I think I would choose the Psychic Party.

What’s your favorite trend for weddings at the moment?
Although some of my associates might say that my favorite trend is the photo booths, my favorite trend is actually the choreographed first dance. I think it’s such a sweet moment between the newlyweds and I think it’s great that they actually took the time to learn a dance together. Plus people actually pay attention when it’s a choreographed dance!

What FireFly package would you pick for your bachelorette party?

I would definitely pick Dangerous Beauty – I’d like to try something I wouldn’t do out of the ordinary… Shooting range, trapeze and Pole dancing!

I’d invite Ellen Degeneres because I admire her and she’d be fun to dance with, Kathy Griffin because she’s not afraid to laugh at herself and Gwen Stefani because she’s a talented musician, confident and classy with an edge!

What’s your most outrageous memory at a wedding?
Thankfully, I haven’t had too many outrageous moments at my weddings, but I think the one incident that sticks out the most was when I had a grumpy DJ. I mentioned this to some already but the DJ told me that he was going to charge the bride/groom $100 for providing a vendor meal instead of a guest meal. That threw me off for a second but they ended up acceptimg the veggie guest meal I offered!

Which wedding are you: Beach, Mountain, Forest, or Countryside?
Neither! I pick City – I just love clean simple lines and I really like having the skyline as a backdrop.

Your rich uncle Donald (trump) gives your $5 million dollars. How would you spend that on a wedding?
I’d spend $60,000 on my entire wedding with 100 of my closest friends and family. Then I’d use the rest to build an animal sanctuary so that I could rescue all the dogs in the shelter, spay and neuter them and get them adopted to loving homes.

Who would you rather deal with: The hung over Groom, Interfering Mother of the Bride or a Bridezilla?
I’ve dealt with all of the above and I’d definitely pick the hungover groom. Hands down, guys are easier to deal with.

to sit back, relax and remember that at the end of the day, all the details do not matter as much as you marrying the love of your life!

Orange County Bachelor & Bachelorette Party Destination

theocOrange County is known for sun, surf, and for birthing Lauren Conrad’s career on everybody’s favorite train wreck  Laguna Hills.  When you strip away the sun baked deb-mutants Orange County reveals some of Southern California’s famed “California Dreaming”. It’s got the shopping, the beaches, and plenty of places to feast.  In a single day you could take a boat around the harbor, make candles, decorate cupcakes, fly an F16(virtually), pole dance, deep sea fish, zipline, paintball, and so much more. We don’t advise doing all of that in one day but it’s theoretically possible. Theoretically.

Our Orange County locations satisfy our bachelor party criteria easily:

  • Transportation - is it easy to get around?
  • Proximity – Is everything ie. bars, clubs, hotels, etc close to each other? Are there some cool daytime excursions close to the area for the bachelorette party?
  • Saturation - Does the area have a strong selection of clubs, restaurants, bars, etc?
  • Safety – Would a group feel comfortable wandering around the streets at 2 in the morning?
  • Lodging – What’s the hotel or vacation rental situation?

In Orange County a Bachelor Party can range from fishing to cooking like a man or take advantage of the great surfing.  For the Bachelorette Party you can take great boudoir shots, take a bike ride or go kayaking.  We have lots of great packages to suit all your needs.

Bachelor Party – Deep Sea Fishing

I love fish and chips smothered in vinegar and served up in a newspaper….. agh I miss a good ole chippie!  In fact, I love most seafood.  I LOVED shark fishing in South Africa and Piranha fishing in Bolivia. However, I haven’t made it deep sea fishing yet. What?! I know, I know, it’s on my list. =) Luckily for you Best Main and Maids of Honor we have some friends that were able to make some solid recommendations for California fishing.

You can either go out on a private boat or on an open boat that accommodates up to 70 people.  The trips range from half days, to overnight trips.  It’s a great way to bond and literally catch a bite to eat.  Some boats, for a small charge, will even clean the fish for you (trust me its worth it, your fiance will appreciate it). Either choice will make for a bachelor or bachelorette party to remember. We offer fishing party packages in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and San Francisco.
