White Water Rafting Bachelor Party for Real Men

Whitewater rafting is for closers. Strippers are for sissies.  Forget them. Any schmuck with mommy issues can wave a dollar bill and act like a 12 year old. We’re telling you to Man-Up and face nature like a gladiator…. with a paddle and a life preserver and a giant inflatable raft. Yes, we’re telling you that you need to go whitewater rafting if you want to be a man. You’ll face Class III rapids as you and your best friends scream into the foothills of the Sierras. The river is an unforgiving opponent and facing it successfully is more fun than partying Hangover II style. Mike Tyson never won a victory as sweet as navigating the South Fork or Middle fork of the American River.  Have we convinced you? Are you ready to book a whitewater rafting bachelor party?

Grab your big boy undies and check out our newest full day whitewater adventure for your bachleor party from $109 per person

http://www.fireflygroupevents.com/pack_details.php?pid=525

You’ll get a day of adventure complete with lunch, guide, a boat(really), and a lifetime of memories that don’t involve a hairy mole on a stripper’s stomach(been there).

Destination Bachelor Party and Bachelorette Party: Los Angeles

If you want to a taste of all-American culture, then head to Los Angeles.  It is the entertainment capital of the world, the streets of Hollywood often feel like a reality show. This diverse city has restaurants for the adventurous palate, the hottest clubs and eclectic beach cities.

When hosting a bachelor party or bachelorette party in Los Angeles you always have to take into consideration the traffic, so leave plenty of time if you are going from one activity to another.  We recommend getting a limo or party bus, so you can relax and have a few drinks (optional) while someone else takes care of parking and navigating the traffic. Limo drivers are also great at recommending local activities and flavors.

When we look for new locations for our parties we take a few things into account.

  • Transportation - is it easy to get around in Los Angeles? Public Transportation?
  • Proximity – Is everything ie. bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels, etc close to each other? Are there some cool daytime excursions close to the area for the bachelorette party?
  • Saturation - Does the area have a strong selection of clubs, restaurants, bars, lodging etc?
  • Safety – Would a group feel comfortable wandering around the streets at 2 in the morning?

In Los Angeles a Bachelor Party can go clay pigeon shooting, go-karting, or indoor sky-diving before hitting the clubs, while the Bachelorette Party can sample Champagnes, cook a gourmet 3 course dinner or simply relax in a spa.  You will not be disappointed by the sights and sounds in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Bachelor Party Packages:

  • Speed Demon – 50 laps round the race track, did we mention that you are driving, then sit down for a family style dinner and club.
  • Platinum – Spy School – Self defense followed by fencing, then learn how to make the perfect Martini – you are now ready for your next mission Mr Bond
  • Bump & Bowl – Bumper cars on ice (are you kidding me), then off to a swanky bowling alley with bar.

Los Angeles Bachelorette Party Packages:

  • Idol Wannabe – Become a superstar for the day and make your own CD, then sit down to a family style dinner and entrance to a club.
  • Glamor Girls – Design your own perfume, then have your nails painted in this chic nail boutique (private party)
  • Chocoholic Poles – Awaken your inner sex kitten pole dancing then indulge in chocolate, make or taste these delectable treats in a chic chocolate shop (our most popular package)

Cake Goodness – Bachelorette party cakes and more

What is your favorite trend for wedding cakes at the moment?
My favorite trend for wedding cakes this moment is tall and lean cakes with a different patterns and textures on each tier (such as damask, stripes, quilted look, etc). My other favorite thing is when the top tier is no bigger than about 4 inches and there is one big fat flower on the side of the top tier (instead of an entire bunch).
What is the most popular flavor for wedding cakes?
My most popular flavor would have to be “Brown Sugar Baby” which is Chocolate and Vanilla cake gently swirled together with a delicious chocolate fudge filling, finished of with a decadent not too sweet vanilla Buttercream Icing.
What FireFly package would you pick for your bachelorette party? – http://www.fireflygroupevents.com/girls/index.php
If I had to relive my bachelorette party again I would definitely want the Vegas package from FireFly. That is where my girls took me for my bachelorette party last April, and I must say it was unforgettable!!! I’d would love to go again!!
Name 3 famous people you’d invite on your bachelorette party? Why?
Hmmm… this is a hard question: Three famous people. I would have to pass on this one. I really cannot think of 3 people other than my bridesmaids that I could have chosen that could have made that weekend more memorable and outrageous than it already was!! =)
What’s your most outrageous wedding cake you have made?
A few weeks ago I did a wedding cake for a couple that was decked out from top to bottom including zebra print, butterflies, rhinestones, “sweet words” written on a tier, and hanging crystals. At first I wanted to make sure the groom was ok with this… and I asked him… and believe it or not he was probably the most excited about it! He even text messaged me a few days before their big day to tell me how excited he was to see it! What a sweet guy! Anything to make his bride happy =). And it turned out to be one wild, outrageous, and absolutely fabulous cake!
Which wedding are you: Beach, Mountain, Forest, or Countryside?
I would definitely be a forest wedding. This was part of the theme for my actual wedding day. My husband Chris loves spooky things, where as I being your typical girlie girl do not =). So I wanted our special day to be a union of our interests… hence our wedding theme: “Spooky Elegance”. Over our dance floor were black hanging branches with Swarovski crystals hanging from a few of the branches. The feel was to be as if you were dancing in the middle of a Spooky forest =)
If you could give one piece of wedding advice to a couple, what would that be………..?
WAIT TO GO ON YOUR HONEYMOON!!! You are so exhausted from all of the wedding madness it is hard to enjoy the next several days! Wait a week, or even a year so that you can look forward to its coming and be well rested!! And it keeps you motivated to not put back on the post wedding pounds if you have to be in a bikini =).

Melinda from Cake Goodness is a cake designing genius, in fact I think her company should be re-named Cake Goddess.   Not only do her cakes look fabulous, they also taste amazing(James is addicted to her cake pops).  If you ever need a cake, cookies or cake pops in Southern California, Melinda is the woman to go to.  That includes having a gorgeous cake designed for your bachelorette party or bridal shower. She is beautiful on the inside and out and will custom design any cake you have in mind.  The pictures speak for themselves, thank you Melinda for sharing.

Bella Rosa Photography – Southern California Wedding Photographer

jenBellaRosaJennifer Carrillo from Bella Rosa Photography, captures your true spirit and beauty.  She uses her photography as her way of expression and connection. She loves being able to photograph people in love and experiencing love.  A large part of her love of photography is the beauty and emotion she is able to capture in her subjects.  We met Jennifer when she was planning a bachelorette party and needed some help. In helping her with the party we found out she’s not only a great photographer, but a pretty cool gal. Thanks Jennifer for sharing with us!

What is my favorite wedding trend at the moment:
Vintage.  Definitely the vintage look in photography, textures, faded colors, and artistic photography.
What Firefly package would you pick for your bachelorette party
okay, there are way too many fun choices!  I like the Wind Tunnel, the Whale Watching, the Trapeze or The Chocolate…too many fun choices!
Name 3 famous people you’d invite to your bachlorette party
Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet
What’s your most outrageous memory at a wedding-there are so many!  Bridesmaid fainting at the wedding, groomsman falling to the floor during ceremony, those were both pretty crazy.  Both were fine, thank goodness!
Your rich uncle, Donald Trump, gives you $5 million dollars, how would you spend that on a wedding.
Wow, never think about having that much money.  I would put a very large donation in me and my husband’s name to the charity of our choice.  With the remaining money, I would choose a beautiful and comfortable venue, pay for all my guests hotel rooms and stay, ensure we had amazing food and entertainment at our wedding so everyone, not just me and my hubby to be, will feel special and have a blast!
Which wedding are you, beach, mountain, forest, or countryside:
My first response is countryside, but I like the beach too.
Finish this sentence: If I could give one piece of wedding advice it would be…..
The wedding is just the beginning, communication is key, friendship is the foundation, and forgiveness is essential.  Go into your marriage knowing it will not end and that no matter what happens, you both will find a way through it.  That is commitment.  That is marriage

Orange County Bachelor & Bachelorette Party Destination

theocOrange County is known for sun, surf, and for birthing Lauren Conrad’s career on everybody’s favorite train wreck  Laguna Hills.  When you strip away the sun baked deb-mutants Orange County reveals some of Southern California’s famed “California Dreaming”. It’s got the shopping, the beaches, and plenty of places to feast.  In a single day you could take a boat around the harbor, make candles, decorate cupcakes, fly an F16(virtually), pole dance, deep sea fish, zipline, paintball, and so much more. We don’t advise doing all of that in one day but it’s theoretically possible. Theoretically.

Our Orange County locations satisfy our bachelor party criteria easily:

  • Transportation - is it easy to get around?
  • Proximity – Is everything ie. bars, clubs, hotels, etc close to each other? Are there some cool daytime excursions close to the area for the bachelorette party?
  • Saturation - Does the area have a strong selection of clubs, restaurants, bars, etc?
  • Safety – Would a group feel comfortable wandering around the streets at 2 in the morning?
  • Lodging – What’s the hotel or vacation rental situation?

In Orange County a Bachelor Party can range from fishing to cooking like a man or take advantage of the great surfing.  For the Bachelorette Party you can take great boudoir shots, take a bike ride or go kayaking.  We have lots of great packages to suit all your needs.

Orange County Bachelor Party Packages:

  • Maximum Overdrive – If  you are an adrenaline junky then this package is for you, take your chance in a Fighter Jet Simulator, then burn some rubber on a race track.
  • Tarzan – 60ft above the ground, test your puzzle solving skills and zip back down to earth on our high ropes course
  • Fish & Fare – Perfect location to catch dinner for the evening.

Orange County Bachelorette Party Packages:

  • Wicks & Wine – Design and Make your own candle, then sample a few wines
  • Cruising Temptations – Cook a scrumptious meal from your choice of menus, then take out an electric boat round the harbor and crack open the champagne
  • Cheers – Join your favorite friends for a mimosa cruise round the harbor – bliss

What’s your favorite trend for weddings at the moment?
I love that couples are finding their own voices beyond just the oversimplification of picking colors but are showing who they are in their events, looking beyond wedding magazines and traditional floral centerpieces to creating an environment that speaks to who they are and why they are together.

What FireFly package would you pick for your bachelorette party?
I am very clear on this:  definitely Champagne or wine tasting, Manicure & Martini or Wine Tour & Hot Springs as I am clearly a lush.

Kristin Banta Events

Kristin Banta Events

Name 3 famous people you’d invite on your bachelorette party? Why?
Carmen Electra or Kim Kardashian as both seem just sassy enough to spice things up and maybe Tim Gunn because he rocks.

What’s your most outrageous memory at a wedding?

A pick-pocketing mariachi followed by a freak wind storm which took out our centerpieces and ignited a number of small fires in the reception space, followed by a power outage, overflowing bathrooms, the mother of the bride falling in the pool, my staff and I having all of our clothes and shoes stolen and the fireworks guy getting arrested before he could set off the fireworks. After all this, ending the night by tumbling down cliffside stairs with 6 other vendors like drunk pirates on a ski slope…Clearly, this was in Mexico. And if I may brag, it was a masterpiece of coordination that we covered everything up so the guests had no idea that any of this happened including making new centerpieces in the 10 minutes before the guests arrived, putting out the fires, tripping the breakers to restore power, fixing and mopping the bathrooms, jumping in the pool with the mother of the bride to insinuate that it was an intentional pool party, stealing our clothes and shoes back from the vagrants who stole them and getting the fireworks guy out of jail then sending him out to sea in a rowboat so he could set them off from the ocean.  All in a day’s work, my friends.

Kristin Banta Events

Kristin Banta Events

Which wedding are you: Beach, Mountain, Forest, or Countryside?
Countryside or Mountain maybe forest…NOT beach.  I’m not a fan of sand as it’s a total menace and gets into everything…and prevents a girl from wearing heals.  Winter mountain scene with birch trees, furs and hot toddies could be amazing…long dramatic countryside tables are always fab – chandeliers over an open table overflowing with estate silver and crystal and mismatched china with rich bustled layered linens is always delicious…or a long reclaimed wood table in the forest with candelabras and heavy rustic glassware and china, bear skins and leather accents like a mid-century post battle feast – rad.

Who would you rather deal with: The hungover Groom, Interfering Mother of the Bride or a Bridezilla?
Hungover Groom EVERY TIME.  Interfering mothers and overindulged bridezillas who take themselves too seriously I have no patience for.

to make it your own.  You have one shot at this and it’s the most important party you are ever going to throw….it shouldn’t be about anyone other than you and your beau.  And if your groom isn’t involved, get him involved, find out which elements interest him as it’s as much his day as it is yours.    And don’t forget humor – it should be as present in the wedding day as heart and style.

Bachelor Party – Deep Sea Fishing

I love fish and chips smothered in vinegar and served up in a newspaper….. agh I miss a good ole chippie!  In fact, I love most seafood.  I LOVED shark fishing in South Africa and Piranha fishing in Bolivia. However, I haven’t made it deep sea fishing yet. What?! I know, I know, it’s on my list. =) Luckily for you Best Main and Maids of Honor we have some friends that were able to make some solid recommendations for California fishing.

You can either go out on a private boat or on an open boat that accommodates up to 70 people.  The trips range from half days, to overnight trips.  It’s a great way to bond and literally catch a bite to eat.  Some boats, for a small charge, will even clean the fish for you (trust me its worth it, your fiance will appreciate it). Either choice will make for a bachelor or bachelorette party to remember. We offer fishing party packages in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and San Francisco.

Check out our different ‘Open Boat’ packages:

  • Fish Fry – 3 Course Dinner & Half Day Open Boat Fishing
  • Fishy Pints – Beer Tasting & Half Day Open Boat Fishing
  • Fish & Fare – Half Day Open Party Boat Fishing
  • School Party – Half Day Open Party Boat Fishing & Party Bus

You can also ‘Charter’ your own boat, check out the following packages:

Flying high at your bachlorette party: Trapeze Lessons

Our seasoned professionals will guide you in a completely safe and totally empowering day of flying. It’s an amazing workout and the most fun you’ve ever had in a harness (well, maybe).

Your bachelor or bachelorette party will learn how to swing on a trapeze, perform various tricks in the air including being caught by a catcher on another trapeze, which is nothing short of thrilling. You will practice climbing and jumping, and you’ll be privy to some cool trapezey lingo – listo, ready, hep…Combine the trapeze with shooting and pole dancing and you’ll have a Charlie’s Angels style good time.

Here are a few bachelorette packages that we offer on our FireFly Website

FireFly Love – Michael Daigian Design

I love flowers – my mother used to own a gardening business in the UK.  I spent the summers  (so did a few of my friends) at School,  University and beyond, planting mowing and pruning.  I also made a really good friends bouquet for her wedding.  So I was delighted to feature the talented Michael from Michael Daigian Design.

MDD is a place where craftsmanship, experience, and originality are commonplace.  Understanding the inherent value of perfect design and treating each piece as a work of art.  They offer their work as a tribute and a treasure, where modern design is about the journey of discovery.

As a customer you will feel unique and pampered, MDD understand the importance of your occasion creating a wedding that is personalized and indulgent, expertly tailored to your desires.

We hope that with these few questions, you will find out a little bit more about the man behind MDD.  Don’t forget to check out his fabulous new blog to see more of his beautiful creations.

Thanks Michael,

If you are in the San Fransisco area, then I would definitely check out his creations for your wedding or even flowers for your bridal shower or bachelorette party.  I feel that who you are can be expressed with the choices of flowers and colors for your wedding.
