Bachelorette Party Idea – Scavenger Hunt & Wine Bar in Los Angeles

The best way to find a good time on your bachelorette party is with our  Scaventure! Once you’re done terrorizing the city of Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade on your scavenger hunt, you can head over to one of our favorite wine bars and unwind.  Over a glass of wine or 3, you can trade crazy scavenger hunt antics and relive the fun. Our Scaventure is perfect for your next birthday party, bridal shower, or bachelorette party in the Los Angeles area.

Not having your bachelorette party in Los Angeles? No problem, let us know where you’d like to host the hunt and we’ll help you make it happen. We’ve hosted parties in San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, New Orleans and are adding more cities all the time.

What is a Scaventure?

Your Scaventure will be a series of challenges, findable objects, clues, trivia, and tasks that you will complete for big points. You’ll be racing the clock and the other teams to get 1st place. To win you’ll have to out think, outwit, out perform, and out create the other teams. It’s the perfect way to spend some time with the bride on her special weekend.

One of our group challenges... can you do it?

What kind of challenges are there?

We’ve packed your Scaventure with more than just challenges. You’ll have list of photos to take, items to find, and some required group challenges.  One example of a photo challenge is convincing a cute guy to remove his shirt for a group photo! In our Found items section we might ask you to bring back “Something hot”. We leave the interpretation of “hot” to you. It could be a packet of hot sauce or a picture of J-Lo. The group challenges are at assigned times and you’ll be competing as a team for big bonus points.  There is something for everyone in this scavenger hunt. We customize it to the bride because she’s the reason you’re all running around the city. =)

How many people do we need for the scavenger hunt?

The more the merrier! We can do it with as little as 6 people(price may vary) and as many as 50 or more. This is a popular event with joint bachelor parties and bachelorette parties.

What do we get at the wine bar?

A sophisticated good time with great drinks and atmosphere. You’ll have a private area just for your group in our favorite wine bar. In addition to great vintages we’ll make sure you’re well stocked with munchies. You’ll have cheese & fruit plates, hummus, bruschetta, and artisan pizzas to keep you going.

Destination Bachelor Party and Bachelorette Party: Los Angeles

If you want to a taste of all-American culture, then head to Los Angeles.  It is the entertainment capital of the world, the streets of Hollywood often feel like a reality show. This diverse city has restaurants for the adventurous palate, the hottest clubs and eclectic beach cities.

When hosting a bachelor party or bachelorette party in Los Angeles you always have to take into consideration the traffic, so leave plenty of time if you are going from one activity to another.  We recommend getting a limo or party bus, so you can relax and have a few drinks (optional) while someone else takes care of parking and navigating the traffic. Limo drivers are also great at recommending local activities and flavors.

When we look for new locations for our parties we take a few things into account.

  • Transportation - is it easy to get around in Los Angeles? Public Transportation?
  • Proximity – Is everything ie. bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels, etc close to each other? Are there some cool daytime excursions close to the area for the bachelorette party?
  • Saturation - Does the area have a strong selection of clubs, restaurants, bars, lodging etc?
  • Safety – Would a group feel comfortable wandering around the streets at 2 in the morning?

In Los Angeles a Bachelor Party can go clay pigeon shooting, go-karting, or indoor sky-diving before hitting the clubs, while the Bachelorette Party can sample Champagnes, cook a gourmet 3 course dinner or simply relax in a spa.  You will not be disappointed by the sights and sounds in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Bachelor Party Packages:

  • Speed Demon – 50 laps round the race track, did we mention that you are driving, then sit down for a family style dinner and club.
  • Platinum – Spy School – Self defense followed by fencing, then learn how to make the perfect Martini – you are now ready for your next mission Mr Bond
  • Bump & Bowl – Bumper cars on ice (are you kidding me), then off to a swanky bowling alley with bar.

Los Angeles Bachelorette Party Packages:

  • Idol Wannabe – Become a superstar for the day and make your own CD, then sit down to a family style dinner and entrance to a club.
  • Glamor Girls – Design your own perfume, then have your nails painted in this chic nail boutique (private party)

Holly Steen – Cakes & Kisses – Los Angeles Wedding Photographer

What is your favorite wedding photography trend at the moment?
My favorite wedding photography trend at the moment is colored bridal shoes. I am a huge fan of brides that think outside the box and buy shoes that match their lifestyle, rather than just their wedding dress. It is even better when the bride wears them for the engagement photos or tells me that she wore them during bachelorette party and broke the shoes in… that means no limping around the reception because of hurt feet.
What are the advantages of having your engagement shots taken by your wedding photographer?
The advantage of having engagement photos with your wedding photographer is simple… you get to know what it is like to be in front of the camera. It builds a trust and relationship that is different than sitting and chatting in a showroom. Although I try not to use all my jokes during the engagement, it is a great way for me to spend time with the couple and make them laugh. I think that the more time the couple spends together the better, and the more food/drinks the couple buys the photographer, the better the photo shoot.
What FireFly package would you pick for your bachelorette party?
The FireFly Events package that I will pick for my bachelorette party is pretty much a laundry list… I have different kinds of friends so I would do a few different to suit each of the groups. Recording Studio- Idol Wannabe, for my overly musically talented friends to sing at the top of our lungs “Lean on Me”, my anthem for 7th grade. Girlfriend Getaway – Sex in the City Weekend, for me and my closest craziest girls. The kind of “All for one and one for all” girls that you have tons of fun with but can’t share any of the stories because they would get us all in trouble. Plus, the Charlies Angel, Self Defense, with my girls and teach them some awesome ways to kick butt in and out of the bedroom.
Name 3 famous people you’d invite on your bachelorette party? Why?
Three famous people I would invite to my bachelorette party would first invite Jewel, the musician, to make my recording studio party to the next level and get us a Grammy. Second, comedian, Ellen DeGeneres, because she makes me laugh so hard, and I think it would be fun, because she probably has some pretty crazy stories. Third, mixed martial artist, Gina Carano, to give us some tips on how to be a knock out and give killer muay thai kicks!
What’s your most outrageous wedding memory, either one you have worked at or one you have been a guest?
So many outragerous wedding memories when I was a second shooter in my first few years of wedding. One of my favorites was for the daughter of the late Pat Morita (the infamous Mr. Miyagi) at a Buddist temple in Hollywood. It was amazing and exclusive, while being unique and special. During the toasting, the brides’ sister stood up and said, “Bonzai” and to have the whole room chime in with “Bonzai” even louder.  This chant carried on through the night was especially memberable when at the end of the first dance the guests all had score cards like “Dances with the Stars.” They received a perfect score.
Which wedding are you: Beach, Mountain, Forest, or Countryside?
I am a beach wedding girl. Some of my favorite beach weddings had lounging couches, bon fires, and perfect breeze that made the day seem so magical. I really think there is a mood that is captured in a beach wedding that is missed in a ballroom, or in a exclusive golf club.
If you could give one piece of wedding advice to a couple, what would that be………..?
Wedding advice is follow what you want. You will regret having the wedding your best friend, mom wanted. Have the wedding that you want, so you can look back at your wedding photos and remember that every moment that was captured was part of your day. This is more marriage advice, but be sure to marry someone that you enjoy listening to and talking to. They will be the one person you can depend on for an opinion, advice, or a shoulder to cry on.

Holly from Cakes & Kisses, lives & breathes photography and it shows. She cries at every wedding, her heart is always in the right place. She cares and feels the joy of each couple. Holly will capture your most cherishible moments, creating art pieces and documenting your day.

If she’s not documenting marital bliss, you’ll find her at a Dodgers games or getting her new studio space ready for the wedding season.  - go Holly.

Holly has become a lovely friend and she will soon become yours, she will make you feel at ease the moment you meet her.

Shannon Lee Images – Los Angeles Wedding Photographer

Shannon Lee loves being a photographer and capturing love, you can definitely see that in her work.  Clients fall in love with her and we can see.  She is energetic, optimistic, passionate and open minded.  She loves to laugh, stay up late, read a book and travel.  Shannon was just awarded included by The Knot in their  the best of Weddings 2010. We are very excited for her and happy to share a bit more of Shannon Lee with you – enjoy.

What is your favorite wedding photography trend at the moment?
Vintage. I’m so obsessed with vintage.  I can’t get enough.  (although I may not be saying that in 6 months) I love shooting every detail at a wedding and something about the rustic, old details at a wedding just looks so classy and stunning.

What FireFly package would you pick for your bachelorette party?
Are you kidding?? How am I supposed to pick just one? I want to go on at least 10 of them!  The adventurer in me really wants to go on a bike tour or white water rafting while the girl in me opts for the wine or champagne tasting or even martini’s and manicures… I would probably have to go with one of the packages that includes all of the above like “kayaking/horseback riding/wine tasting” or “kayaking/wine tasting/sailing” might be my best bet.  Just knowing that FireFly would be organizing every bit of it makes me want to do all of them even more.  Do I have to be getting married? :)

Shannon Lee Images

Name 3 famous people you’d invite on your bachelorette party? Why?
Maybe Natalie Portman.  I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her and she’s a delight[firefly note: james is jealous]. Regina Spektor because I’m obsessed with her newest CD and she seems quirky like me so I’m sure we’d get on. And maybe Zach Galifianakis.  He’d be good for some laughs.  If there’s one thing I love, it’s laughing.

What’s your most outrageous memory at a wedding?
DJ’s always surprise me with what they can come up with.  One reception, the DJ had the bride leave the room and while she was gone made all the groomsmen get on their hands and knees so only their butts were facing her when she came in.  At first he was going to blindfold her and make her touch the boys bums to guess which one was her new husband.  He thought better of it and just let her look at them since you  couldn’t see their faces.  She hesitated between two but she got it right!  It was a lot of fun too.

Shannon Lee ImagesIf a wedding you were shooting, was attacked by ninja’s what would you do?
As a photographer I am trained in the fine art of stealth.  This skill would be put to the test as I would have to do my best to be unseen and unheard, capture some amazing shots of all the rad ninja moves (who doesn’t love ninjas?), and of course protect the cake at all costs.

Your rich uncle Donald(trump) gives your $5 million dollars. How would you spend that on a wedding?
Thank you Uncle Donald who I wish really wish was my real uncle.  Wow.  Seriously, I don’t know how my couples begin to plan their weddings.  There are so many amazing ideas out there.  Recently I’ve been helping a good friend plan her wedding and I’m so overwhelmed.  Personally, I want a small wedding but at the top of my list would have to be hiring a phenomenal photographer.  I think investing in a photographer is the smartest thing any couple could ever do.  Once the flowers have died and cake is eaten (sad), the only memories you’re going to have are the photographs so they better be good!  To me, a good photographer is priceless.  I’d also be sure to find an amazing designer who wouldn’t skimp on the many, many details.  As well as a really great baker for all my sweets.  Cake is my favorite part of the day.  I also think a great coordinator can’t be valued enough.  Good coordinators take everything off your shoulders so that you can do nothing but have fun and enjoy every minute of your always too short day.

Finish this sentence: If I could give one piece of wedding advice it would be…
Listen to your vendors.   Really, we just want to make sure you have the most fabulous day possible.  Don’t be afraid to ask advice/opinions of us either.  I know I love helping my brides/grooms every step along the way.

What’s your favorite trend for weddings at the moment?
I love that couples are finding their own voices beyond just the oversimplification of picking colors but are showing who they are in their events, looking beyond wedding magazines and traditional floral centerpieces to creating an environment that speaks to who they are and why they are together.

What FireFly package would you pick for your bachelorette party?
I am very clear on this:  definitely Champagne or wine tasting, Manicure & Martini or Wine Tour & Hot Springs as I am clearly a lush.

Name 3 famous people you’d invite on your bachelorette party? Why?
Carmen Electra or Kim Kardashian as both seem just sassy enough to spice things up and maybe Tim Gunn because he rocks.

What’s your most outrageous memory at a wedding?

A pick-pocketing mariachi followed by a freak wind storm which took out our centerpieces and ignited a number of small fires in the reception space, followed by a power outage, overflowing bathrooms, the mother of the bride falling in the pool, my staff and I having all of our clothes and shoes stolen and the fireworks guy getting arrested before he could set off the fireworks. After all this, ending the night by tumbling down cliffside stairs with 6 other vendors like drunk pirates on a ski slope…Clearly, this was in Mexico. And if I may brag, it was a masterpiece of coordination that we covered everything up so the guests had no idea that any of this happened including making new centerpieces in the 10 minutes before the guests arrived, putting out the fires, tripping the breakers to restore power, fixing and mopping the bathrooms, jumping in the pool with the mother of the bride to insinuate that it was an intentional pool party, stealing our clothes and shoes back from the vagrants who stole them and getting the fireworks guy out of jail then sending him out to sea in a rowboat so he could set them off from the ocean.  All in a day’s work, my friends.

Kristin Banta Events

Which wedding are you: Beach, Mountain, Forest, or Countryside?
Countryside or Mountain maybe forest…NOT beach.  I’m not a fan of sand as it’s a total menace and gets into everything…and prevents a girl from wearing heals.  Winter mountain scene with birch trees, furs and hot toddies could be amazing…long dramatic countryside tables are always fab – chandeliers over an open table overflowing with estate silver and crystal and mismatched china with rich bustled layered linens is always delicious…or a long reclaimed wood table in the forest with candelabras and heavy rustic glassware and china, bear skins and leather accents like a mid-century post battle feast – rad.

Who would you rather deal with: The hungover Groom, Interfering Mother of the Bride or a Bridezilla?
Hungover Groom EVERY TIME.  Interfering mothers and overindulged bridezillas who take themselves too seriously I have no patience for.

to make it your own.  You have one shot at this and it’s the most important party you are ever going to throw….it shouldn’t be about anyone other than you and your beau.  And if your groom isn’t involved, get him involved, find out which elements interest him as it’s as much his day as it is yours.    And don’t forget humor – it should be as present in the wedding day as heart and style.

Bachelor Party – Deep Sea Fishing

I love fish and chips smothered in vinegar and served up in a newspaper….. agh I miss a good ole chippie!  In fact, I love most seafood.  I LOVED shark fishing in South Africa and Piranha fishing in Bolivia. However, I haven’t made it deep sea fishing yet. What?! I know, I know, it’s on my list. =) Luckily for you Best Main and Maids of Honor we have some friends that were able to make some solid recommendations for California fishing.

You can either go out on a private boat or on an open boat that accommodates up to 70 people.  The trips range from half days, to overnight trips.  It’s a great way to bond and literally catch a bite to eat.  Some boats, for a small charge, will even clean the fish for you (trust me its worth it, your fiance will appreciate it). Either choice will make for a bachelor or bachelorette party to remember. We offer fishing party packages in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and San Francisco.

Check out our different ‘Open Boat’ packages:

  • Fish Fry – 3 Course Dinner & Half Day Open Boat Fishing
  • Fishy Pints – Beer Tasting & Half Day Open Boat Fishing
  • Fish & Fare – Half Day Open Party Boat Fishing
  • School Party – Half Day Open Party Boat Fishing & Party Bus

Your bachelor or bachelorette party will learn how to swing on a trapeze, perform various tricks in the air including being caught by a catcher on another trapeze, which is nothing short of thrilling. You will practice climbing and jumping, and you’ll be privy to some cool trapezey lingo – listo, ready, hep…Combine the trapeze with shooting and pole dancing and you’ll have a Charlie’s Angels style good time.
